Dominican Republic – December 12, 2011 – Leading the helm for the resurgence of the real estate market in the Dominican Republic, Group Metro, a real estate and transportation company based in Santo Domingo, has surpassed its goals for 2011 experiencing tremendous sales up 300% since 2010 – a rare feat in these economic times. The company is the developer of several properties in the Juan Dolio region including Cost Blanca, Las Olas and Marbella – all of which have experienced movement in the last year.

“This year we have seen huge increases in sales volume, comparable to numbers in 2006 for the Juan Dolio area. We’ve been able to be this successful by being proactive toward our client market base in the capital, Santo Domingo,” explains Dr. Luis Jose Asilis, CEO of Group Metro. “Our team assessed the market and trends and in result, decided to focus on affordable offerings which are the reason for the dramatic increase in sales.”

In March, Group Metro launched affordable small lots at Costa Blanca, an exclusive residential golf and beach community located in the Juan Dolio region. The single-family lots, now 75% sold, are priced from $50,000 and are located nearby the tennis area of the community.

Group Metro also focused on the Las Olas development, a stunning sixteen level Art Deco beachfront condominium that features 247 apartments. With apartments starting from US$185,000, Las Olas is now 95% sold. The beautiful apartments showcase panoramic views of the Caribbean Sea.

In addition to the affordable offerings, another important factor to the success of Group Metro was educating the Santo Domingo market about Juan Dolio, a growing suburb of the capital. “The coastal town is an increasingly attractive destination within the country where the investment is ideal for both personal use and long term,” adds Asilis.

Group Metro expects to close the year with even more sales increases due to the re-launch of the 2ndphase of Marbella, another beachfront condominium. This phase of 162 apartments in towers completes the five towers of Marbella. The company is also preparing for a prosperous 2012 with the upcoming announcement of new additional lot areas at Costa Blanca, as well as the opening of the golf course and Clubhouse.
