When a carbon-zero replica racing car visited Cartridge World Swansea, it was the ideal opportunity to raise awareness of ways to reduce our individual carbon footprint.

A road-going version of the Cartridge World Carbon Zero Racing track cars arrived at Oxford Street in Swansea on Friday 17th and Saturday 18th July. Visitors had the opportunity to have their photograph taken with the car. They could also learn a few tips on being environmentally friendly. Cartridge World is the title sponsor of Cartridge World Carbon Zero Racing, the first European motor-racing team created with the clear intention to operate its entire operation ‘carbon zero’, using biofuels and working with R&D partners to showcase reliable automotive technologies to produce more efficient road-going vehicles. Tony John, of Cartridge World Swansea, said: “We’re really excited about Cartridge World Carbon Zero Racing. The visit by the car has proved a great way to get people talking about the environment and how we can each make a difference. “Cartridge World Carbon Zero Racing demonstrates there is an alternative to conventional fuels, even on the racing track. There is a real synergy with Cartridge World which provides the quality alternative for printer cartridges. Reusing printer cartridges is the environmentally friendly choice, and one which will also save consumers a substantial amount of money.” Cartridge World Carbon Zero Racing is competing in the 2009 HiQ MSA British Touring Car Championship (BTCC).
