Lisa Richards-Everton, widow of Paul Richards, husband and father of three from Sutton Coldfield, who died as a result of receiving a fatal overdose at Birmingham Heartlands Hospital, has accepted a six figure compensation sum plus payment of costs. Tony Hall from Anthony Collins Solicitors who represents Lisa Richards-Everton explains: “This claim was made on behalf of Lisa and her three children. “The figure not only represents the severity of the case, but also takes account of the underlying medical condition of Lisa’s husband. The judgement involves financial settlement for the long-term detrimental effects that Lisa still suffers from as a result of horrifying incidents at Birmingham Heartlands Hospital witnessed by Lisa and her teenage son in the last hours of her husband’s life.” Lisa Richards-Everton adds: “No amount of money can ever give me and my children the wonderful husband and father we had. “No words can ever express our loss. There is a massive gap in mine and our children’s lives that can never be filled. What we are going through will be with us for life and no amount of money can ever change that. “I will continue to fight for patient safety, and one day I hope to open a charity in memory of Paul for families going through the same.”
