Arctic Gold AB (ARCT): High copper grades in Bidjovagge

Report this content

Arctic Gold has now obtained high grades of copper as well in Bidjovagge.  It was previously reported that a rich gold mineralization had been encountered extending over 22.75 m with 2.59 g/t gold of which 8.8 m with 4.14 g/t in Bidjovagge. Analyses show that there are now also high grades of copper in conjunction with the gold.

The rich gold section was found in drill hole 11-0016, which was drilled for the purpose of following up on the rich copper and gold mineralization found by IGE Nordic when drilling in the area in 2008. The copper analyses now at hand show high grades as well.

The entire mineralization extends for 39.75 m along the core and contains on an average 1.49 g/t gold and 0.9 % copper. Within this section there are sections with higher grades, for example 19.45 m with 2.96 g/t gold and 1.06 % copper. Alternatively a division can be made between a section rich in gold extending over 8.80 m with 4.14 g/t gold and 0.32 % copper, and a section rich in copper over 8.67 m with 1.86 % copper and 2.36 g/t gold.

This mineralization is situated 280 m north of the old mine area and shows that new mineralization can be found. The mineralization is open in all directions and has also been investigated with geophysical measurements in the drill holes and will also be further investigated with continued drilling next season.

-This is very positive and raises the hopes of finding new mine-able deposits of gold and copper in the Bidjovagge mine field, says Lars-Åke Claesson.

Arctic Gold's business concept is to engage in exploration activities to discover and demonstrate commercially extractable gold and base metal deposits in Scandinavia; The strategy is primarily to carry out exploration work and either sell the project within a few years or to establish mining activities under the company's own control or through a partnership with other companies. Arctic Gold focuses mainly on the Bidjovagge project in northern Norway and current gold and base metal permits in Västerbotten and Norrbotten.
