Europe’s leading web-TV and mobile-TV supplier Qbrick, specialized in streaming media and online video solutions, is sold to TDF Group. TDF Group, with head office in Paris, France, is Europe’s largest operator of TV broadcast networks. Qbrick will be part of TDF’s Media Service division that will help European broadcasters and corporations transform their TV and video business in a connected word.

Qbrick provides cloud-based video management solutions for multi-screen delivery for broadcasters and corporations in the Nordics. The company has grown through both acquisitions and organically, in primarily the Nordics. Through this acquisition TDF will get access to both Content Delivery Network technology and a leading Online Video Platform for its existing broadcasting customers across European markets.

Qbrick is owned by the founders, its employees and a few external investors. Thereby it’s been of utmost importance to find a partner who will continue the work and strive to the same vision that Qbrick has had since it was founded in 1999 - a growth company with a clear business concept - to deliver end to end online video solutions for both media companies and corporations. Founder and member of the board Peder Matsgård will stay on as an advisor and continue to serve on the Board of Directors of Qbrick.

-          The TDF group will help us grow outside the Nordics, says Peder Matsgård founder of Qbrick. I have seen the company grow from 5 employees in 1999 in a small office in Stockholm to today employing close to a 100 people in five countries. Everyone is very excited about how we can take our leading market position in the Nordics and build a similar position with TDF in continental Europe.

-          For Qbrick’s existing customers the merger will be of great value. Through TDF we will get access to more R&D and gain knowledge about the media industry. But more importantly, being part of a larger group means that we will have resources to always deliver a market leading solution to our customers, says Eric Matsgård CEO of Qbrick.

TDF Group has a turnover of 1.5 billion Euros, where 36 % comes from digital and analog television broadcasting. As web- and mobile-TV is the fastest growing trend in the broadcasting market this coalition makes it possible to enter very exciting and large European markets together.

-          Qbrick is a very successful and solid company with a proven business model and a talented team cross the Nordics. We are especially impressed by their longstanding customer relationships with large broadcasters and corporations. The demand for ‘TV Everywhere’ solutions is strong right now and we think TDF and Qbrick together can  become the leading provider in this space, says Julien Seligmann, Director of the Media Services division.

The purchase price is not made official.
