Managing Director John Davis will be delivering ‘What Small Businesses Want from Their Banks – A European View and Case Study’ at the 16th Annual Small Business Banking Conference, hosted by American Banker magazine on November 9, 2011.

The workshop will explore how various Financial Institutions in Europe generate new lines of fee-based revenue, position themselves as innovators in the SME banking space, and deliver world-class solutions vital to their clients.

“This international workshop is intended to address how banks have used a deep understanding of the needs of SMEs to step beyond banking products and align their proposition with the basic, everyday challenges small businesses face: helping them to survive and succeed,” said John Davis.

The workshop will cover:

  • Basic research findings about what SMEs consider to be their big headaches
  • What banks traditionally do and don’t do
  • The alternative – positioning the bank as trusted adviser and going beyond banking
  • Defining the areas SMEs can stretch into – how and why they should stretch
  • UK and European case studies
  • Benefits provided to banks:
    • Generating cross-sell opportunities
    • Strengthening existing business client relationships
    • Growing wallet-share
    • And generating non-interest income
