Mikael Ymer returns to Team Bactiguard

Mikael Ymer, one of Sweden's most talented and promising tennis players, returns to Good to Great Tennis Academy and Team Bactiguard. He climbs the world rankings and is now among the top 350 players in the world, while preparing to play the next Davis Cup-match for Sweden.

Mikael Ymer, together with his older brother Elias Ymer, Daniel Windahl, Fred Simonsson and Jonathan Mridha formed the original Team Bactiguard back in 2012. He trained and competed for Team Bactiguard until spring 2017, when he chose to leave after a heavy injury period.

After successful rehabilitation, Mikael is back on track, training and competing again. He has had a good start to the year, worked methodically with his team and won many matches, most recently a match in the ATP tournament in Miami. Mikael has advanced in the world rankings and will rank around 350 in the world after the ATP tournament in Miami.

"I feel great about being back in team Bactiguard and at Good to Great again. Johan Hedsberg is a great coach and mentor, both for me and the Davis Cup team. The support from Bactiguard makes it possible for me to train with Johan and have him beside me at competitions and on trips. This is invaluable to me", says Mikael Ymer.

"It's great to have Michael back with us. He is an ambitious and interesting player, whom I have always enjoyed working with. That Bactiguard makes this possible is fantastic and nothing but fantastic! "says Johan Hedsberg, Sweden's Davis Cup captain.

"We are really pleased to welcome Mikael Ymer back to Team Bactiguard and Good to Great, particularly ahead of the Davis Cup-match against Portugal later this week. We keep our fingers crossed that Mikael continues to be injury free, so that he can advance in the world rankings and move Sweden forward in the Davis Cup," says Christian Kinch, CEO of Bactiguard.

Since 2012, Bactiguard has been sponsoring Team Bactiguard, within the Good to Great Tennis Academy, founded by Magnus Norman, Nicklas Kulti and Mikael Tillström, who have all won the Davis Cup for Sweden and been ranked among the best tennis players in the world.

"The players we select for the Good to Great Tennis Academy are all very talented, but perseverance and hard work are needed to reach the top in the world. To be offered an opportunity to train and compete with some of the best coaches in the world within Team Bactiguard is a rare opportunity and very valuable support for young elite players, "explains Magnus Norman, one of the founders of the tennis academy.

In the summer of 2017, Bactiguard developed the tennis initiative with a new generation of teenagers. Within Good to Great, a new Team Bactiguard was formed of fine promising tennis jewels: Isac Strömberg, Arslan Temirhanov, Måns Dahlberg, Henrik Bladelius and Tsegai Gebremeskel, all promising youths in the age group 13 to 14 years. Now the team is expanded with Mikael Ymer who will have Johan Hedsberg, Sweden's Davis Cup captain as his main coach.

By supporting young athletes, who are aspiring to reach the top, Bactiguard wants to help strengthen the development of future tennis talent in Sweden. The sponsorship makes it possible for the players in Team Bactiguard to engage in both tennis and physical training, supported by a medical network linked to the team, in parallel with their studies. The initiative means that they are given the opportunity to practice and compete in a world-class environment.

Bactiguard values health, whether it is by preventing infections or promoting a healthy lifestyle. With Team Bactiguard, Bactiguard hopes to inspire both young people and adults to focus on health and sport.
