Bonava has signed an agreement to acquire land in Bäcklösa, Uppsala from Uppsalahem AB. The property is located in Bäcklösa, an area where Bonava will construct about 140 homes.

Bäcklösa is included in Uppsala’s development of the southern part of the city, for which expansion is prioritised by Uppsala Municipality for the next few years. The area, along Dag Hammarskiölds väg, borders the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU) between central Uppsala and Sunnersta.

Bonava will be complement the ongoing construction of rental apartments with two phases of tenant-owner apartments.

-          I am pleased that we can expand our project and development rights portfolio in a prime residential location in Uppsala. The acquisition is in line with our strategy of developing homes and happy neighbourhoods where people have the highest quality of life, says Fredrik Hemborg, Business Unit Manager, Bonava Sweden.

Bonava takes possession of the property in the fourth quarter of 2017 and sales will start at the end of that year. The first turf is expected to be cut in the first quarter of 2018.
