X-treme Vision scoops top UK award

Guildford, UK – Philips Automotive is delighted to announce that its X-treme Vision headlamp bulb has been named Headlamp Bulb of the Year, 2012 at the prestigious Auto Express Product Awards.

In addition, the Philips VisionPlus headlamp was also one of only two bulbs to be officially recognised with a Product Award Commendation.

“We are delighted that X-treme Vision and VisionPlus have both been recognised in what is undoubtedly the UK’s number one Autmotive Product Awards,” enthuses Philips Automotive’s UK Country manager, Ed Savage.

Best of the Best

X-Treme Vision joins a long line of Philips headlamp bulbs to have won one of the coveted Auto Express Awards. Since the awards were introduced in the 1990s, Philips products have never failed to pick up at least one award or commendation every year in their category and Philips has won Best in Category more often than any other automotive lighting manufacturer.

Realistic claims – unlike some..

“I was also pleased to note that the magazine itself remarked that, unlike many other headlamp bulbs that are on the market, which claim to be 100% or even 120% brighter than a standard bulb, Philips does not make extravagant, unsupportable claims for its products,” continued Ed Savage. “Auto Express has shown this to be the case before, but I think it has been proven once again that anyone who buys a Philips bulb will get exactly what they expect to get – a bulb which performs to the specification on the packaging and which we manufacture ourselves with OE quality standards.”

Ten Decades of Innovation

Philips has been at thre forefront of innovation in the Automotive Lighting sector for almost a Century. It is no exaggeration to say that Philips has been responsible for almost every major development in automotive lighting for the last two decades - new technologies, such as High Performance Halogen bulbs, Blue headlamps, Xenon HID lighting, LED Automotive lighting and LED Daytime Running Lights.

Philips’ reach is such that one out of every two cars worldwide is equipped with a Philips bulb.

New Mobility Horizons

As part of the company’s drive to continued innovation, moving forward, Philips’ is looking towards an expanded range of automotive products that move beyond vehicle lighting alone and into the wider aspect of mobility products. Examples of this are the Philips ranges of LED inspection lights, batteries and chargers, LED Flashlights and Saferide LED bicycle lights.

Philips will still, of course, continue to develop vehicle lights and lead the way with innovative solutions to respond to drivers’ and riders’ needs for comfort, style, sustainability and above all, safety.

Philips automotive innovations enhance people's lives on the move by making their means of mobility safer, more energy-efficient and more stylish.
