Bridge Publications has been honored for developing an in-house training program that resulted in staff now being among the most proficient in the world, setting records for production volume.

Bridge Publications, publisher of the nonfiction works of Scientology Founder L. Ron Hubbard, has been honored with top honors in the Manufacturing Leadership 100 Awards of 2012.

At the May 3 award ceremony, at the Breakers Hotel in Palm Beach, Florida, 2012, Bridge Publications’ accomplishment was described in these terms: “When Bridge Publications decided to move production of its book and CD products in-house, the size of its manufacturing staff suddenly expanded by ten times…. Bridge responded by developing an in-housetraining program which involves an apprenticeship, testing of staff knowledge, and on-the-job training. Bridge's staff is now among the most proficient in the world, setting records for production volume.”

Previously called the Progressive Manufacturing 100 Awards, the Manufacturing Leadership 100 Awards (ML 100) honor companies that are “shaping the future of global manufacturing from all corners of the manufacturing industry.”

Award nominees in 11 categories are evaluated by a panel of expert judges. From hundreds of nominations from around the world, the highest-scoring 100 companies or projects and individuals internationally are honored as Manufacturing Leadership 100 Award Winners. The 16 distinguished judges, a number of them previous ML 100 winners, represent a broad cross-section of the manufacturing industry and include such well-known companies as General Motors, The Boeing Company and L'Oreal.

From each category, judges select the first-place winners for that category’s High Achiever Award. Judges look for “groundbreaking manufacturing companies from around the world that have transformed themselves through the use of information technology and deliver demonstrable competitive advantage.”

Bridge Publications earned its 2012 ML 100 Achiever Award in the New Workforce category, described as manufacturers who “have come up with innovative ways to bring new workers with critically needed new skills into the workplace, and to enable them to productively collaborate with and learn from existing knowledge experts. Winning projects, for example, involve education and training, knowledge management and transfer, and collaboration with educational institutions.”

Bridge Publications Inc., which has been honored with three previous Progressive Manufacturing 100 Awards, earned this year’s honors by documenting the application to staff training of breakthrough technology developed by L. Ron Hubbard in the fields of study and administration. They dominated the category, beating four other ML100 winning companies for this category: Automation Federation, Commonwealth Center for Advanced Manufacturing, Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Co., Manchester School of Technology.
