Cision Canada Names Julie Geller Vice President of Marketing
Julie’s expertise in strategic planning, implementing social media governance models and building and sustaining communities will elevate Cision Canada’s influence in the social landscape and provide expertise for our clients
Toronto, Ontario (December 14, 2012) — Today, Cision Canada, the country’s leading innovator of software, services and tools for the public relations and marketing sectors, has named Julie Geller, Vice President of Marketing.
“Since joining our team in 2011, Julie has defined Cision Canada’s social voice,” says Terry Foster, Cision Canada President. “With the growing importance of social media to PR and marketing, Julie’s insight and analysis have advanced our company’s thought leadership and business objectives.” In her new role, Geller will guide Cision’s account managers, client development agents and customer service representatives in delivering the company’s marketing vision and strategy.
Geller has more than 12 years of experience in digital marketing. She previously served as client services director at Social Media Group and at Sonic Boom Creative Media, and she was a founding partner of Rocket Digital Management. “Julie’s expertise in strategic planning, implementing social media governance models and building and sustaining communities will elevate Cision Canada’s influence in the social landscape and provide expertise for our clients,” explains Foster. Geller has also been the driving force behind the recently launched “Social Media Ref” panel series and Cision Canada’s new “The Influencers” webisodes, and she steered the launch of the company’s new website and blog (www.cision.com).
An active member of Toronto’s social media community, Geller has worked on initiatives for mid- to large-sized companies representing a range vertical markets, including broadcasting, retail, information technology, natural health, finance, education, automotive and not-for-profit. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Anthropology from Carleton University, and a Certificate in Interactive Multimedia from Algonquin College.
