CISION ADDS ENHANCED CRISIS ALERTS, SHARING AND PRIVACY OPTIONS TO CISIONPOINT LONDON, 14 SEPTEMBER 2009 – Cision, the world-leading media intelligence company, today announced a number of significant enhancements to the crisis alert and workflow functionality available within its award-winning CisionPoint software platform.

CisionPoint monitoring is now available on mobile phones and desktop applications thanks to the addition of RSS functionality. CisionPoint monitoring content in Outlook, iGoogle and a wide range other platforms simplifies information management in both day-to-day activity and, crucially, in crisis situations, ensuring customers get the information they need, when they need it, wherever they are. RSS allows users to retrieve the latest content from a variety of websites – news, blogs and other online publishers – without actually having to visit those sites. The technology makes personalised news and information available in one place, which can be accessible on the web, desktop or mobile phone. “RSS is a very simple and incredibly useful idea, but its benefits are rarely communicated in a way that most people understand,” says Giselle Bodie, Managing Director at Cision UK. ”For CisionPoint customers, the addition of RSS simply means the latest content can be made available wherever they want it – including on their phone”. “There has been some talk recently about the continued relevance of RSS, with people asking if new platforms such as Twitter have superseded it. At Cision, we think that RSS remains crucial for aggregating the content that’s important to you. While Twitter is clearly great for content discovery, RSS is invaluable for keeping up with the channels you already know.” The latest CisionPoint release also offers more personalisation, with options to share monitoring information – or to keep it private. Search monitoring covers more than 68,000 online sources which can now be shared among members of project, product or brand teams, while agencies are better able to exchange intelligence as it relates to a particular client. At the same time, sensitive searches can be kept private. -ENDS- About CisionPoint CisionPoint is a web-based service platform which integrates the planning, sharing, monitoring and analysis of PR and communications.
