Spotlight on CIMSPA as Prime Minister turns to Royal Charter model for Leveson

In response to media reports that the Prime Minister is considering the use of the Royal Charter in relation to Leveson, Sean Holt, CEO of the Chartered Institute for the Management of Sport and Physical Activity (CIMSPA) said:

“As one of the most recent bodies to be granted chartership by the Royal Privy Council, CIMSPA has seen first-hand the benefits of becoming a chartered body.

As an independent body we are not directly accountable to government but play a crucial role in raising the standards within the industry for the greater good of the sector.

CIMSPA was issued royal charter by the Privy Council in January this year and it has allowed us to not only remain independent but provides us with the prestige required to allow people working in the sport and physical activity arena to continue their own professional development and go on to become chartered professionals.

It has also given us the perfect platform for those entering the sector to uphold the values and standards within the sport and physical activity sphere."
