Clogau is delighted to announce a 3 year headline sponsorship package with The Wales Polo Team and association.

Ben Roberts, Managing Director of Clogau Gold said; ‘We’re delighted to support Welsh Polo, strengthening our ties to our Welsh heritage and endorsing a team that embodies our brand values”.

His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales agrees to be Patron

The UK governing body of Polo, the Hurlingham Polo Association, recently agreed to officially recognise the Wales polo team and the formation of the Welsh Polo Association. The team are delighted that His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales has agreed to be the Patron of the Wales Polo Team and Association for an initial 3 years.

For the 2012 season the team will now be an official team representing Wales and are set to play in Wales, England and the United States from June - August 2012.

The new Chairman of the Wales Polo Team and Association is Harry Legge-Bourke, former Welsh Guards Officer and polo enthusiast. The team and association will be administered from the Glanusk Estate, his ancestral home, where the team has played during the annual International Polo Match for the past 3 years.

‘We are absolutely delighted that Clogau have agreed to sponsor the team for 3 years and look forward to working with them and our other sponsors in promoting Wales and all that is best of our sporting culture. I know that the team and committee will be great ambassadors for our country’ commented Harry Legge-Bourke.

Brand Manager for Clogau Gold, Sonia Menezes added, “We’re looking forward to the 2012 Polo season with some fantastic international fixtures lined up, including the British Beach Polo at Sandbanks. Clogau Gold will launch a jewellery collection in association with the Wales Polo Team. Each piece of Clogau Gold jewellery contains a touch of the very same rare Welsh gold used to create wedding rings for some members of the Royal family since 1923. The tradition of Royalty using Welsh gold is over 100 years old. In 1911 when Prince Edward was invested as Prince of Wales, his coronation regalia, known collectively as The Honours of the Principality of Wales, were fashioned from Welsh gold”.
