Melbourne, Australia August 7th , 2012 – Concept Amenities, a global leader in the supply of environmentally responsible hotel guest amenities hosted Manufacturing, Exports and Trade Minister, Richard Dalla-Riva and Lorraine Wreford MLA, State Member of Parliament for Mordialloc district on Friday.

The Minister was interested to hear about the success of the company; plans to reinvigorate and expand manufacturing operations at the Braeside plant; the addition of new, innovative machinery and cutting edge technology.

“Innovative businesses, like Concept Amenities, are the backbone of the economy and important for continued local growth,”explains Michael Matulick, chief executive officer of Concept Amenities, “More importantly, manufacturing is critical for export growth in Victoria, and Australia in general, with regard to job creation and cumulative gross domestic product.”

Matulick goes on to explain “We are looking at current government programs that can assist us by supporting the introduction of new technologies, the development of new markets and ways we can further improve energy efficiencies within our manufacturing operations that support our long-term growth initiatives.”

Wreford supported Matulick’s comments: “The Victorian Coalition Government is working extremely hard with manufacturers. We all know the Australian economy is not at its best right now, with confidence falling, and barriers like the high dollar making it tough for exporters. Then there’s carbon tax,” Says Wreford. “Manufacturing is vitally important to this region and Melbourne relies heavily on the jobs created in suburbs across Kingston.”

Congratulations were also expressed by the visiting party with regard to the recently unveiled Soap Aid program, which involves the collecting and recovery of discarded soap from hotels to reprocess into new bars and distribute to those most in need throughout the world.

The independent charity will help address one of the most critical needs facing third world countries today—the lack of sanitary conditions. This ambitious humanitarian effort is aimed at saving millions of lives worldwide. “Soap Aid is a unique opportunity for Concept Amenities to remain true to its core values of promoting eco-consciousness and improving the quality of life on our planet,” says Matulick. “With the help of others in our industry, we can save millions of lives together.”
