Advanced Depth Sensing and Voice Recognition Camera Brings the Future of
PC Interaction to Consumers for Just US$199.99

Creative Technology Ltd today announced that the new Creative Senz3D™ interactive gesture camera will be available for online order from Creative.com and Amazon.com in the United States from September 25, 2013 at US$199.99. This innovative new camera will be showcased at IFA 2013 in Berlin at the Creative Exhibit 110 in Hall 3.2 and the Intel Exhibit 101 in Hall 2.2, Messe Berlin from September 6 - 11.

Unveiled in June 2013 at the Computex Show in Taipei, the Creative Senz3D is designed for use with 2nd generation and later Intel® Core™ processors and introduces an immersive multi-dimensional gaming, video conferencing and voice control experience for PC enthusiasts and early adopters.
To deliver a new level of multi-dimensional interactive experience, the Creative Senz3D combines advanced depth sensor technology with a camera and dual array microphones. Its key capabilities include close-range depth tracking specifically for PCs (6 inches to 3 feet), finger-tracking, static hand poses, moving hand gestures, facial detection/analysis, voice recognition, and augmented reality. Multi-modal interactions are realized through the combination of the above usages. Users can play PC games using hand and finger gestures to control and interact with characters and different environments. The camera’s 3D sensing technology is able to enhance facial recognition and also extract a person’s image for various applications.

“We’re really excited about the endless possibilities that the Creative Senz3D will open up for the PC world. This highly innovative camera, through its depth-sensing and audio capabilities, users are able to interact in a natural, intuitive and immersive way with their voice, hands, fingers and face, to control games, surf the internet or even interact with social media by using gestures and voice commands,” said Low Long Chye, General Manager for Audio and Video at Creative.

“Perceptual Technologies will redefine how people interact with their devices by adding human-like senses, making computing experiences more natural, intuitive and immersive. The Creative Senz3D enables new interactive experiences from gaming and collaboration to social media. We’re excited to work with Creative to bring Senz3D to market,” said Mooly Eden, Senior Vice President, Intel Corporation.

In addition to a variety of games and applications that ship with the Creative Senz3D, users will experience a robust bundle of software that enables interactive video conferencing, voice control of a PC, creation of video blog environments, and much more. The interactive gesture camera was initially made available to developers in conjunction with the Intel Perceptual Computing Software Development Kit (SDK), more than 22,000 copies of which have been downloaded. There have been a number of interesting applications prototypes developed using the SDK for the Creative Senz3D. In time, these applications will be available online at Perceptual Apps site @ www.intel.com/perceptual/apps.
