Yorkshire’s Moin Ashraf has joined Cricket Deal Direct as a brand ambassador for its innovative SM range of cricket equipment.

In a partnership lasting until 2017, Ashraf has been officially sponsored by Cricket Deal Direct (CDD), and outfitted with a range of high performance SM equipment. As brand ambassador, he will promote the SM range across all levels of cricket – both regionally and nationally.

“I'm choosing to use SM gear is because of its growing reputation of providing top quality cricket equipment in the UK to various players that I have played against,” said Ashraf, “not only is the reputation of the company growing internationally, it has a big history in Indian cricket which I am fully aware of.”

The Bradford-born fast-medium bowler made his professional cricket debut at the close of the 2010 season, for Yorkshire, and was first identified as a prospective international-level player in the winter of 2011/2012.

“We’re hugely excited to have Moin joining us,” said Ian Anderson, CDD’s managing director, “he’s a talented player and his 2015 season is widely anticipated.”

“Moin is also based in an area where we are keen to expose the quality SM brand to a wider cricketing community” he concluded.

Ashraf was an integral part of Yorkshire’s Twenty20 side during the summer of 2012, where they progressed not only to the domestic final, but also to the champion’s league in South Africa.

“Cricket equipment is all about maximising an athlete’s potential - if the equipment that the athlete uses allows them to get the best out of themselves then that is a massive contributor in their performance. I’ve seen many top professionals using SM and I feel that it’s the right brand for me” said Ashraf.

The partnership is a progressive step forward in the master plan to build Cricket Deal Direct in to a business that is run “by cricketers, for cricketers, based on the idea of having players who use the kit being able to look after their own patch and share first-hand the benefits of using the equipment” says Anderson.

“I am looking forward to my time with Cricket Deal Direct and I feel privileged to be representing them on the cricket field” concluded Ashraf.

CDD enables new and exciting brands such as SM to be made accessible to all cricketers, from professionals through to those at junior level, by supplying directly from the manufacturer, making equipment more competitively priced. CDD offers a one-stop-shop in the supply of equipment, coaching gear, balls and clothing, and including a personalisation service with embroidery and printing, along with a supply of trophies.
