camexpo unveils Keynote speakers for 2015
With visitor registration now open for camexpo 2015, event organiser Diversified Communications UK has revealed an exclusive first look at some of the Keynote speakers already confirmed.
Taking place over the weekend of 26-27 September, over 4,500 attendees (ranging from sole practitioners and large CAM clinics to health care professionals, health store retailers and CAM students) are set to converge on Olympia London – making camexpo the UK’s biggest gathering of complementary, natural and integrative health professionals of the year.
The event is renowned for showcasing dynamic free educational content, covering all the latest research and techniques, from some of the biggest and brightest names in the industry. This year’s CPD-accredited programme is certainly no exception. Dementia, Alzheimer’s, cancer, auto-immunity, chronic disease, and obesity – some of the biggest issues facing today’s health care profession – are all coming under spotlight for 2015.
camexpo conference highlights include highly-anticipated Keynotes from osteopath Leon Chaitow, founding Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Bodywork & Movement Therapies; Professor Ben Pfeifer, director of research at the Aeskulap Clinic in Switzerland (widely-known for developing prostate cancer and breast cancer complementary protocols); and top women’s health nutritionist Dr Marilyn Glenville, the former President of the Food and Health Forum at the Royal Society of Medicine.
Other returning big names include Antony Haynes, one of the first nutritional therapists to implement the principles of functional medicine in the UK; Jayney Goddard – president of The Complementary Medical Association (The CMA) and a fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine; and prominent healthy-eating advocate Dale Pinnock (popularly known as the ‘The Medicinal Chef’).
New speakers include bodywork expert Til Luchau and Professor David Peters – clinical director at the University of Westminster’s School of Integrated Health and director of the new Westminster Centre for Resilience.
Professor David Peters has years of applied integrative health experience as a medical doctor in hospitals and general practice. He is a trained homeopath and a registered osteopath. At camexpo, he’ll be discussing his approach to ‘whole person health’ and how all treatments (particularly for chronic illness and disease) can be powerfully enhanced by the effects of a positive practitioner‐client relationship.
Til Luchau is already established as one of the US’ top massage experts, and is now rapidly making a name for himself in the UK. Director of Advanced-Trainings.com, he was on the faculty of the Rolf Institute of Structural Integration for over 20 years; during which time he originated the Skillful Touch Bodywork modality. At camexpo, he’ll be examining some of the types, causes, and treatment approaches for sciatic pain.
The 2015 camexpo Keynote line-up already includes the following sessions (with further announcements due early next month):
- Professor Ben Pfeifer – Integrative oncological treatments for patients with metastatic prostate cancer
- Til Luchau – Sciatic pain: myofascial approaches
- Dr Marilyn Glenville – Brain power: how nutrition can improve memory, concentration and reduce the risk of dementia and Alzheimer’s
- Dale Pinnock – The power of three: three dietary elements that deliver the broadest physiological benefit
- Professor David Peters – The therapeutic client relationship
- Leon Chaitow – A therapists’ guide to recognising and managing fascial dysfunction
- Jayney Goddard – Kindness and compassion: the sane route to weight loss and well-being
- Antony Haynes – Auto-immunity & the infection connection
- The C word – integrative support for cancer (panel discussion)
“My experience of speaking at camexpo 2014 event was excellent,” says Leon Chaitow, who is looking forward to returning to the show’s 450-seat Keynote Auditorium. “The organisation, venue, and ambiance were all of the highest standard. And those attending were both attentive and inquisitive – an ideal audience."
Running alongside the show’s central exhibition, the camexpo conference also includes a new Nutrition Theatre, demo Theatre, Business Clinic sessions and 48 Taster Workshops. Taster Workshop hosts include James Earls, Leon Chaitow, Til Luchau, Earle Abrahamson, and Amy Taylor, plus previous camexpo Outstanding Achievement Award winners Ruth Duncan, Mary Atkinson, Meghan Mari and Rachel Fairweather.
With nearly a third of all 2015 Taster Workshop places already sold, camexpo’s organisers are urging prospective attendees to book early to secure their first choices. For more information and current workshop topics, please visit www.camexpo.co.uk/education/workshops.
