Have your parents take a walk down memory lane and celebrate this holiday season

Although it is only October, Christmas is in the air. Stores are beginning to shelve holiday items and garland is being hung. Soon, festive music will be piped into stores making it a good time to start looking for that perfect gift, although some people are harder to buy for than others.

Each year, families struggle in finding the perfect gift for their older parents or grandparents. However, this year, Leisure Getaways Incorporated, will help take the stress out of shopping. According to Brett Grabner, COO of Leisure Getaways, a unique gift for older parents or grandparents who often have everything and yearn for nothing, is a three-day getaway to Branson, MO. Not only does Branson have world-class entertainment, dining and shopping, it also is home to the famed Andy Williams Christmas Variety Show.

Have your parents take a walk down memory lane and celebrate this holiday season at the Retreat at Foxborough, Nov. 21, 22 and 23. Beginning Oct. 10, Leisure Getaways is sponsoring a Facebook contest which will award one lucky couple a three-day, two-night stay at the resort. Winners will also receive two tickets to the show on Nov. 22 and a $100 dining gift card. To win this gift of nostalgia, visit http://woobox.com/qvvfah to nominate yourself, your parents or grandparents. The contest ends Nov. 7, 2014. Air fare is not included.

“The great thing about entering this contest is once you have submitted your entry on Facebook, you receive additional entries when those you share the contest with enter and share with others,” said Grabner. “So, if you share the post with 20 friends on Facebook, and they register for the contest, you’ll receive 20 more entries, which of course improves your odds of winning!”

Those who grew up in the 60s will recall Williams and his television variety show which ran from 1963 to 1971. Williams’ annual Christmas show always topped the list of holiday favorites, both on television and on stage, earning him the nickname, “Mr. Christmas”.

The legacy of this beloved show continues in Branson as The Osmonds and The Lennon Sisters return to the stage in honor of Williams’ favorite time of year – Christmas. Many will fondly remember The Osmond family, who were introduced to America when they appeared as regular performers on Williams’ weekly television show in the 1960’s. The already famous Lennon Sisters also frequently appeared on Williams’ show in the early 70’s.

According to reviews, the Osmond’s and Lennon’s love of Williams shines through in this performance. Everything that made America’s favorite Christmas show special is part of this live Branson production, including musical variety, dancing, and beautiful sets filled with holiday cheer and backed up by the Moon River Orchestra.
