Electrolux has been named Industry Leader of the Household Durables category in the prestigious Dow Jones Sustainability World Index (DJSI World), for the tenth consecutive year. This year’s assessment, published by RobecoSAM, showed a notably big improvement for Electrolux in the area of corporate citizenship and philanthropy.

“Sustainability is an integrated part of the Electrolux business model. It’s also becoming increasingly important for us to consider the wider impact we have on society,” said Henrik Sundström, Head of Sustainability Affairs at Electrolux. “In addition to working on issues such as improving the energy efficiency of our products and operations, we want to leverage our global organization and expertise to make a positive difference for consumers and communities around the world.”

“We’re very pleased to see this recognized also in this year’s DJSI, and look forward to soon announcing new initiatives addressing the social dimension of sustainability,” Sundström said.

DJSI World includes the 10% best-in-class economic, environmental and social performers among the world’s 2,500 largest companies. Electrolux has been included every year since the index was launched in 1999.

The Dow Jones Sustainability Indices enable investors to integrate sustainability considerations into their portfolios.
