1 in 4 Nashville Area Companies to Make the 2011 Inc. 500|5000 List are EO Nashville Members

NASHVILLE, Tenn. Aug. 24, 2011 – Fifteen percent of the 88 members comprising the Nashville chapter of Entrepreneurs’ Organization (EO) have been named to the Inc. 500|5000 list of the fastest-growing private companies in America, the magazine announced today.

EO Nashville member companies also make up 25 percent of Nashville-based companies on the Inc. 500|5000 list. Statewide, EO Nashville members account for 12 percent of Tennessee-based companies on the list.

“EO members are passionate, creative and hard-working. Their businesses have a profound impact on the local and regional economies,” said Debbie Gordon, president of EO Nashville and founder of S3 Asset Management and Snappy Auctions. “So it’s no surprise that their influence is felt nationally as well, and that they are well represented on this prestigious national list.”

The Nashville EO chapter has 88 members and is one of the fastest growing EO chapters in the world. To join, an entrepreneur must be a founder, co-founder and controlling shareholder of a company with gross annual sales exceeding $1 million.

According to the magazine, companies are chosen for the list by comparing revenue growth from 2007 to 2010. Companies must be U.S.-based, privately held, independent, for-profit and not a subsidiary or division of another company. Revenues in 2007 must have been at least $100,000 and at least $2 million for 2010.
