Lars Thunell new chairman of technology company Flexenclosure

 Lars Thunell, 69, has been elected new chairman of the Swedish Internet infrastructure company Flexenclosure. Thunell has many years of experience from leading positions in major international and Swedish companies and has been CEO of the Swedish bank SEB and chairman of International Finance Corporation at the World Bank.

Flexenclosure is a Swedish technology company headquartered in Stockholm. The company provides sustainable Internet infrastructure – designing and manufacturing prefabricated data centres and intelligent power management systems for the ICT industry. An industry leader in both fields, the company has deployed 43 eCentre data centres and over 3,000 eSite hybrid power solutions in 27 countries worldwide.

Lars Thunell has extensive experience in international business and has worked at ABB in Zurich and American Express in New York. In the 1990s, Thunell was CEO of Insurance Company Trygg-Hansa and in 1998 he became CEO of SEB.  After leaving SEB, he served as Chairman of International Finance Corporation, which is part of the World Bank.

Thunell has also had a large number of board assignments, including the British bank Standard Chartered, Kosmos Energy, Astra, Akzo Nobel, SCA, and has been adviser to Blackstone. Thunell holds a PhD in Political Science at Stockholm University.

Recently, Bruce Grant, Guy Willner and Jean Philippe Prosper were elected members of the Board.  Bruce Grant has been in charge of the Tele2 and Transcom boards. He also started and operated the international consulting company Applied Value. Guy Wilner has solid experience from a number of companies in the ICT sector, where he has been involved in starting and building globally successful companies. Jean Philippe Prosper has extensive experience of international business, including the World Bank, where he held a number of senior global positions within the International Finance Corporation.
