Boubou Hallberg, MD, PhD, has been recruited by the GHP hospital group as new Hospital Director at Sheikh Khalifa Medical City Ajman (SKMCA) in the United Arab Emirates.

In this position Boubou Hallberg will manage the women and children’s hospital, where he replaces Professor Göran Lingman. Göran has had this role since the start in the autumn of 2016 and has built a strong foundation for the future development of the hospital.

Boubou Hallberg has most recently worked as Head of Department and senior consultant at Karolinska University Hospital, where he has had several leading roles. He has been active in research at Karolinska Institutet, focusing on neuroprotection treatment in premature and newly born infants, family-centered care and the design of health care and medical care.

“I am convinced that Boubou Hallberg will be a strong addition to our management team and part of our positive development of the hospital group,” says Erik Wassberg, CEO of SKMCA.

“I very much look forward to this assignment in UAE and hope that with my experience of change management, the introduction of quality controls and integrating new ways of working in new premises at Karolinska I will be able to contribute to the further development of SKMCA and GHP’s visions. Specialisation and systematic control of the values that are important for patients make it possible to achieve large health gains efficiently,” says Boubou Hallberg.

Boubou Hallberg takes up his position on 5 November 2018.
