With ACDelco’s parent group focused on progressive career and personal development, the UK and pan-European operation has welcomed three newcomers to its aftermarket team. Covering the fields of finance, logistics and product management, the new appointments have been made in support of GM’s policy of ensuring each team member gains the maximum opportunity to align their skills set to the needs of today’s automotive industry.

Overseeing ACDelco’s financial department is Finance Manager, Kiymet Guven. Holding a Masters Degree in Business Administration gained at RWTH Aachen University in Germany, Kiymet has some 11 years experience within corporate finance. Having previously held the position of finance analyst with both Vauxhall in Luton and General Motors, Rüsselheim, she gained an initial insight into the automotive sector working for Delphi as a finance controller. A true multi-linguist, Kiymet is qualified in and has a thorough understanding of the functions and processes involved in reporting, accounting, budgeting and compliance.

Taking on the responsibility for ACDelco’s developing European aftermarket parts operation is European Logistics Coordinator, Jamie Roberts. With full responsibility for parts shipment, collections, customer service, invoicing and forecasting, Jamie is putting his academic qualifications gained as part of a degree obtained from Bedfordshire University in Electronic Business and Internet to good effect. As Jamie points out: “Whilst in full time education I also elected to work in parts logistics with Vauxhall in Luton, a move that enabled me to put into practice what I learnt in various academic modules. Fortunately this is something that I am now enjoying doing for ACDelco by gaining tangible experience in what is a very stimulating and rewarding role.”

Helping ACDelco deliver the optimum parts programme to an ever-expanding customer base both here in the UK and across Europe is Product Manager, Paul Kirby. With 12 years’ buying experience within GM, and holding qualifications within the Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply, Paul has a thorough understanding of the product management process. In addition to helping source the optimum quality, yet competitively priced components, one of Paul’s main roles is to monitor the changing face of today’s vehicle parc, whilst aligning the ACDelco product offering to maximum effect.

Commenting on this latest development, General Manager, Lee Quinney said: “These latest changes once again demonstrate ACDelco’s long-term commitment to the UK aftermarket and its desire to reward members of the team who continue to play an important role in its ongoing development. We are incredibly lucky in that we have such a dedicated and committed team at ACDelco, so it would be remiss of me not to take this opportunity to thank each and everyone for their ongoing support.”
