Public and private sector cloud experts to discuss the future of the cloud in federal government

Akamai Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ: AKAM) will be holding its annual Government Forum on June 5th in Washington, D.C. The 2014 Akamai Government Forum will present a new path forward for the future of cloud-based solutions and cybersecurity in federal government.  The event will be produced by Government Executive Media Group, the government and defense division of Atlantic Media.

The Forum will feature a keynote presentation from Tom Leighton, CEO of Akamai Technologies who will be sharing his view of Trends & Challenges in a Hyperconnected World.  A second keynote presentation from Steven Chabinsky, Chief Risk Officer, CrowdStrike and former Deputy Assistant Director for the FBI’s Cyber Division, will address The Bad Guys Evolve, Are You Keeping Up?

The day will kick off with a panel discussion on Cloud and Efficient IT: How Can the Cloud Help Agencies More?  Attendees will listen to government-wide best practices and case studies of efficient cloud adoption and usage from panelists who have first-hand experience in effective cloud implementation. The panel, moderated by Casey Coleman, Client Executive Vice President at AT&T Government Solutions, will host thought leaders from across the public and private sector.  Featured panelists include:

The June 5th event date will coincide with the deadline for the FedRAMP program’s Cloud-First initiative for all federal agencies to demonstrate that their cloud-based service providers meet the requirements put in place by the program.  As such, the Forum will feature a panel discussion on the FedRAMP program, its effect on agency operations to this point, how it will affect the future of agency operations, and best practices across all federal agencies.  The panel will be moderated by David Blankenhorn, Chief Cloud Technologist, DLT Solutions, and will feature:
