GSF Car Parts have seen a surge in air con orders after investing in a complete review and enhancement of its range.

GSF Car Parts have seen a surge in air con orders after investing in a complete review and enhancement of its range.

This Summer’s product line up includes no less than six different air con machines to fit every niche. The Dunlop DACP200 offers a solution for hybrid vehicles but it’s been the decision to UK stock the Italian-made Brain Bee range of fully automatic air con stations that’s driven the uptick of orders.

The CLIMA6000-PLUS was voted ‘Best Value 2014’ in UK garage research. Despite boasting a delivered priced of under £1,500 + VAT, it includes a host of features such as a built-in Autodata UK vehicle database, fully automatic ‘valve free’ operation, a choice of operating modes, 12 litre refrigerant tank as well as options to upgrade functionality with printers or hybrid adaptor kits.

Next up comes the CLIMA8250 range. Models still start at well under £2,000 + VAT and all include a heavy duty compressor, vacuum pump and a bigger refrigerant storage tank to save labour time. There’s also built-in UV dye leak detection injection and hybrid POE capability. The CLIMA8250-1234YF completes the range to support those wishing to cater for the growing demand to service vehicles containing the new R1234YF gas.

“Air con service and repair is still a very profitable core summer activity for UK independent garages,” said Garage Essentials General Manager John Wright. “We’ve redeveloped our programme to meet changing requirements and invested in having stock in place.”

John continued: “The CLIMA6000-PLUS is a great foundation as a European-made fully automatic air con machine from a brand leader at an exceptional price point but we can also handle the increasing enquiries around hybrids and R1234YF air con. It’s important GSF lead in emerging areas and can advise customers as demand starts to build.”

GSF have also launched competitively priced air con service contracts. These offer complete customer peace of mind and fixed costs after purchase through completion of recommended service and extended warranty. Also, new for this year is City & Guilds approved F-Gas training. This delivers ‘lifetime approval’ to handle air con refrigerants where other courses require periodic updating or retesting, bringing future costs.

Last but not least, GSF have large stocks of Vetech premium quality R134a refrigerant available now. The Vetech product was introduced to counter inferior quality product; the gas is 99.9% pure R134a and is supplied in refillable CE cylinders. Despite being price competitive, Vetech R134a is risk-free to garages because it’s fully compliant with all UK and EU labelling requirements.

“Unfortunately, we were aware of UK garages being supplied cylinders that didn’t meet legal requirements,” said John. “Garages may trust their factors implicitly but where cylinders arrive without the right labels or emergency numbers present it’s the important garages realise it’s then they that can be found to be in breach of UK legal requirements and the Duty of Care which exists to protect employees under Health and Safety legislation.”
