Handelsbanken’s sale of shares in UC AB is completed

As announced on 24 April 2018, Handelsbanken has entered into an agreement to divest its shareholding in the credit information agency UC AB to Asiakastieto Group Plc.

UC’s merger with the Asiakastieto Group has now been completed. All the conditions for the merger of the two companies have been fulfilled, and the transaction was completed on 29 June 2018.

Handelsbanken has received 2,161,178 shares in the Asiakastieto Group and EUR 24.2 million in cash. The impact of the sale on Group profits is estimated at around SEK 837 million at the closing of the transaction, and this will be reported during the second quarter of 2018. The shares that will be received represent approximately 9 per cent of the equity in the Asiakastieto Group.

The transaction means that the Bank’s common equity tier 1 ratio increases by about 0.1 percentage point.
