The School of Business, Economics and Law at the University of Gothenburg has once again been awarded a re-accreditation by EQUIS  and continues to be one of approximately 150 EQUIS accredited business schools  in the world. The EQUIS accreditation is a prestigious international quality stamp that the School of Business, Economics and Law has had since 2004, with re-accreditation in 2009 and now again in 2014. Over the years, the requirements for accreditation have continued to increase.

"We are proud and happy to have been re-accredited," says Per Cramér, Dean of the School of Business, Economics and Law. "Being accredited means that we can compete for the best students and researchers in the international arena, and is a prerequisite to collaborate with high-quality business schools around the world."

The accreditation process is important because it drives the School’s continuous development forward and thereby contributes to improved quality in research and education. Before being re-accredited, the School must show that it has developed its activities since the last accreditation, and that it is operating at an internationally competitive level. The EQUIS assessment places particular emphasis on strategic work, governance, research, internationalisation, sustainability and interaction with the society in which the School operates.

The renewed EQUIS accreditation is valid for three years. The School of Business, Economics and Law is also accredited by the Association of MBAs (AMBA) and is working to become accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) at the beginning of 2016. These are the three most prestigious accreditations in the world for business schools and only a small proportion of schools hold all three accreditations.

EQUIS is an international system for the quality assurance of higher education in the field of business. EQUIS is run by the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD), an independent, non-profit-making network organisation open to both corporations and universities.
