Raleigh, N.C. (October 13, 2010) Sensus, a worldwide leader in heat and water meters, announced today the signing of a major contract in Egypt. This agreement plans the installation of 28,000 MeistreamPlus, an innovative Class C C&I water meter which especially enables intelligent use and conservation of water resources. Sensus is already well represented in North African countries with subsidiaries and local industrial partners, and this contract strengthens its presence in this market. “This contract with Egypt confirms our mission to provide utilities around the world with solutions that enable intelligent use and conservation of resources. We are confident that our state-of-the-art technology will help Egypt to manage efficiently and durably water conservation programs,” said José Hernandez, Executive Vice President Global Water & Heat at Sensus. Launched in 2008 in Europe, the MeiStreamPlus Class C C&I water meter is set to redefine performance for bulk meter applications as a result of its wide flow range and impressive accuracy. It is the world’s first Woltman meter in metrological class C and has been optimized for applications with very low flow rates. MeiStreamPlus’ advanced bearing and hydraulics design means it effectively replaces three former meter technologies, merging the high overload capabilities of Woltman horizontal and vertical meters with the low flow performance of single jet Class C meters. For more than 100 years, Sensus has designed, manufactured and supplied intelligent state-of-the-art metering solutions to satisfy the daily needs of water and energy utilities across the globe. Particularly concerned with sustainability issues such as resource conservation, Sensus continues to provide customers with new capabilities and products which improve operational efficiency and reduce environmental impact.
