London, UK – Friday, November 12, 2010; David Brabham, renowned as one of the world’s leading sportscar drivers, will host an exclusive free coaching session for young drivers at Autosport International 2011.

The double American Le Mans Series Champion and Le Mans 24 Hours winner, who created the Brabham Performance Clinic and leads MSA Team UK as National Race Coach, will give drivers the chance to learn the fundamentals to develop a winning mental attitude. Run over the past three years, Brabham’s previous free Autosport International workshops were aimed at karters and their parents. The 2011 workshop taking place at 10.30am on Saturday, January 15, will be open to MSA licence holders aged 12 years and over. Having competed across the highest echelons of worldwide motorsport, Brabham’s illustrious career stretches from karting through the single-seater ranks all the way to F1, while his domination of the American Le Mans Series resulted in back-to-back championship titles in 2009 and 2010. Outright victory at the Le Mans 24 Hours for Peugeot in 2009, which followed two consecutive GT1 Le Mans class wins with Aston Martin, continued his own powerful legacy befitting of the family dynasty established by his father, triple F1 World Champion Sir Jack Brabham. Regardless of his racing environment, Brabham is renowned for the way he works in partnership and motivates not only himself but also his co-drivers and team to reach their maximum potential in pursuit of a common goal. Through the Brabham Performance Clinic, he helps nurture the next generation of British racing talent and uses his global ethos and winning mentality to motivate others, from young people to professional organisations, through special groups and workshops. “I’ve held Brabham Performance Clinic workshops for karters at Autosport International for the last few years,” said Brabham. “Last year we doubled the number of attendees and the room was full of karters and their parents. We received a lot of positive feedback from people who have taken onboard the principles I talk about to have their best year in karting. “I’ve already received enquiries from drivers keen to know if the session will be run again. As there seems to be the demand, this year we have worked with Autosport International to expand the age group to 12 years and over, to allow more young drivers to come along. “The Brabham Performance Clinic presentation is a way for me to give something back. It’s a free seminar where I explain some of the key areas I feel are very important. Factors that, when under control, allow us to perform at a higher level which I don’t mind sharing. It’s great and I enjoy doing it. “The seminar is based on self awareness. It’s such an important part of what we do, not just in racing but in life in general. Once we raise awareness of ourselves in different areas we can control our destiny, in a certain sense. That’s key, particularly if you want to pursue a sporting career.” The free Brabham Performance Clinic Workshop at Autosport International is available to 35 drivers, who must be MSA licence holders aged over 12 years. Participants must hold a valid Autosport International ticket for Saturday.
