We are thrilled to announce that in the recently published and eminent national consumer travel awards, VIP SKI has achieved first place in the category for Best Small Ski & Winter Sports Operator.

Built up over the last 25 years, VIP SKI has assembled an impressive collection of ski chalets and hotels in nine resorts across the French, Swiss and Austrian Alps. The portfolio includes 56 properties in Val d’Isere, Meribel, Verbier, Zermatt, St Anton, Alpe d'Huez, La Plagne, Les Gets and Morzine. What sets VIP apart? Aside from outstanding customer service and exemplary childcare it is the quality and location of property that sets the company apart. VIP SKI has built or designed all of their properties themselves. Think boutique-hotel chic or chocolate box charm. Put it another way; smart contemporary or traditional mountain design, snugly wrapped in handsome local timber and generously filled with plump inviting sofas and roaring log fires. The collection features fabulous resort centre and ski-in ski-out locations, serious altitude, an abundance of cinemas, hot tubs and saunas and plenty of room to swing a Marmotte. It’s an ‘à La Carte’ menu of extremely smart holidays to suit every skier and taste at an affordable price.

Andy Sturt, Founder and MD of VIP SKI said, “I feel completely humbled by the public who have voted for us and the unstinting commitment of our staff over the last two decades who have made this possible. Small private Companies aren’t supposed to win national awards at glitzy ceremonies! The secret? I think there is a risk of overcomplicating travel. Certainly it is challenging to deliver a seamless ski holiday but as long as you care desperately about every customer, listen to them in good times and bad, treat them as you would wish to be treated yourself and never stop trying to get better in everything that you do, and then the rest tends to look after itself. I am delighted that the public seem to think so too”

The British Travel Awards are the largest public voted awards programme in the UK and designed to reward the very best companies in travel. The winning accolade is the benchmark for excellence when it comes to establishing from a consumer perspective who really is the best in the business.  All companies nominated for an Award were put before a panel of selected industry professionals from both inside and outside the travel industry who whittled the nominations down to a list of final nominees in various categories. The next stage saw the shortlisted companies put before a public vote promoted through BTA media partners including The Times, Sunday Times and radio stations including LBC, Heart and Classic FM.

Andy Sturt collected the award before the great and good of the UK Travel Industry at a glittering ceremony hosted by comedian Hugh Dennis on 1 November at the Battersea Evolution in Battersea Park, London. www.britishtravelawards.com
