Caroline Arehult becomes new CEO of Hemfosa Fastigheter AB and Jens Engwall is appointed CEO of Nyfosa AB

The Board of Directors has decided to appoint Caroline Arehult as new CEO of Hemfosa Fastigheter AB. Caroline Arehult is currently Managing Director of Skanska Fastigheter Stockholm and has extensive experience from senior positions in the property sector. Jens Engwall is appointed CEO of Nyfosa AB, the subsidiary that Hemfosa is planning to distribute and list by the end of the year. The changes will take place in the autumn of 2018.

"Hemfosa is facing an exciting future, with the ongoing process to prepare for the demerger of the business into two listed companies. The changes announced today offer us the best of two worlds. Jens Engwall is appointed CEO of the newly formed subsidiary Nyfosa, and will there contribute his unique expertise in opportunistic property transactions. He also remains member of the Board of Hemfosa. We are in parallel very pleased with the recruitment of Caroline Arehult as new CEO of Hemfosa. Her expertise, experience and leadership qualities will be a strong engine in Hemfosa’s continued development as a specialist in community service properties," says Bengt Kjell, Chairman of the Board of Hemfosa Fastigheter AB.

"I am very proud of the journey we have made together at Hemfosa. I am convinced that Caroline Arehult will manage and develop both operations and the corporate culture at Hemfosa in an excellent way. At the same time, I feel highly committed to leading Nyfosa as a new, agile and transaction-intensive property company," says Jens Engwall, CEO of Hemfosa Fastigheter AB, and incoming CEO of Nyfosa AB.

Caroline Arehult, born in 1973, holds a degree in engineering in construction and property economics from KTH in Stockholm, Sweden, and the Institute of Technology in Hamburg, Germany. She is currently Managing Director of Skanska Fastigheter Stockholm, where she has responsibility for commercial project development. Prior to that, she held senior positions at Skanska, including Head of Leasing and Marketing, Head of Property Management and as Property Developer.

"While my nearly 20 years at Skanska have been fantastic and involved many exciting roles at the company, it is now time for me to move on. In Hemfosa, I can see a fantastic opportunity to take over the great job that Jens Engwall has done and continue to build on his work. My impression of Hemfosa is that it promotes a corporate culture characterized by entrepreneurship and a great sense of personal responsibility, which is very similar to the culture I come from and thrive in. Together with my new colleagues, I look forward to continuing to develop Hemfosa and to finding our path forward," says Caroline Arehult, incoming CEO of Hemfosa Fastigheter AB.
