BOARD MEMBER HEIKKI KAUPPINEN DIES IN ACCIDENT

It is with great sadness that HKScan received the news of the death of Board
member Heikki Kauppinen, B.Sc. (Econ.& Bus.Admin.), in an accident while skiing
on 8 January 2008. Mr Kauppinen was born in 1947.

Mr Kauppinen served on the Board of HKScan for nearly five years. He was
elected to the Board in 2003 as an outside expert with diverse experience in
the international marketing of branded goods, the very skills then needed by
the increasingly international HKScan. Mr Kauppinen was an active contributor
to the expansion of the Group.

For most of his lengthy career, Mr Kauppinen served Unilever Finland, most
recently as its managing director from 1994 to 2002. He was also Chairman of
the Board of Kyrönmaan Juustomestarit Oy and sat on the Boards of Halva Oy and
Laatusuhde Suomi Oy. Mr Kauppinen's enduring interest in orienteering was
expressed in his Chairmanship of the Board of the Finnish Orienteering
Federation.

The HKScan Group mourns the loss of its highly respected Board member Heikki
Kauppinen and extends its deepest condolences to his bereaved family.
