Team expands to help organisations meet government’s challenging new efficiency targets

Organisational change specialists MGS Consultancy have bolstered the team with two new high-level appointments.

Together, Martin Thomas and Seamus McAllister bring over 30 years in local authorities and consultancy to MGS, a leading consultancy which takes a people-centred approach to transforming organisations and improving the delivery of public services.

Martin Thomas says, “We’re at an exciting point in time where organisations have the opportunity to reshape services in ways which not only reduce costs, but are also more people-centred and accountable.  I’ve spent a lot of time in local authorities and understand the pressure people are under now to rethink the way they do things – in the best interests for their organisation and the communities they serve.  I’m really excited about working with MGS to support teams through the challenges that lie ahead for our sector.”

Seamus McAllister adds, “MGS offer a refreshing blend of behaviour insight and organisational management which, rather than dry theory, really engages with people and the issues and challenges they face.  MGS is helping authorities face these challenges head on, whilst still ensuring that people – an organisation’s most valuable assets – are kept at the centre of the change process.”

“I’m delighted that Martin and Seamus are joining the team, as we’re passionate about transforming the sector we’ve all worked so long in, says Michael Gates, MGS Director.  “These are challenging times, but they do provide a unique opportunity to make some radical, community-focussed changes to local services. I strongly believe that this change, if managed effectively, can bring wide-ranging financial, political and human benefits to communities across the country.”

MGS is also working closely with ICE, one of the UK’s leading change and social marketing companies to drive forward SO Change principles – a powerful combination of Social Change and Organisational Change – in order to drive forward greater effectiveness for individuals, organisations and wider communities. The partnership sees both companies maximising strategic links with Central Government, Local Authorities, Primary Care Trusts and NHS Trusts across the country.
