KME Yorkshire is celebrating the success of its social media and online digital strategies.

The copper tubing specialist, which supplies its market leading Yorkshire Copper Tube branded products to companies across the globe, introduced a Facebook fan page and Twitter profile in 2011 and its ‘likes’ and ‘follows’ have been increasing ever since.

With over 1000 likes on its Facebook page and almost 400 followers on Twitter, KME Yorkshire can instantly communicate with a direct and engaged audience that have opted to receive its posts and tweets.

It uses the platforms to garner opinion, share industry news, provide real time updates from events, exhibitions and conferences, run competitions and share all its latest product and facility information and photographs.

The social media outlets also allow KME Yorkshire to strengthen relationships with other key contacts including the trade press and industry bodies.

Following this initial success, the company has also designed and developed a corporate LinkedIn page and is rolling out personal profiles for the senior management team.

A new website for its Yorkshire Copper Tube branded products was also launched in March this year, which was designed following a survey of more than 10,000 contractors, installers and merchants.

www.yct.com was developed in line with the company’s on-going commitment to customers and is packed with information and features that are relevant to all the different audiences.

The company also gave its popular customer newsletter, Tube Talk, a digital makeover in 2012. Launched in 2007 it has more than 11,000 readers and burst into life on the world wide web in January 2012.

Neil Overton, Commercial Director at KME Yorkshire led the digital and social revolution of the company after identifying the need for a professional online presence.

He said: “The online world has changed beyond recognition from that of just a few years ago and it is vital that any forward thinking business stays abreast of the latest developments.

“As more and more people from all walks of life join the realms of Facebook and Twitter we saw a fantastic opportunity to communicate our key messages to an audience that has already agreed to hearing what we have to say!

“Our other digital and online strategies have also been very well received, the website is content rich and informative and Tube Talk is now much more interactive.

“We are currently rolling out our LinkedIn presence to make the most of professional networking opportunities.

“After such a successful start we are looking forward to seeing how all these strategies develop to enhance the way we communicate with our many different audiences.”
