IFS Applications to support 600 users across the AKO group to streamline mission-critical processes such as manufacturing, distribution, planning, and constraint-based scheduling

IFS, the global enterprise applications company, announces that Turkish automotive industrial group AKO, which comprises leading brands such as Petlas, AKO Jant, AKO Akü, and Sumitomo Rubber, has chosen to implement IFS Applications™ as its central enterprise resource planning system.

Ankara-based AKO (Abdulkadir Özcan Inc.) was founded in 1955 and has since grown into Turkey’s largest tire manufacturer with some 2,000 employees. Looking to consolidate and streamline its group-wide business processes, as well as promote transparency and cost control throughout its value chain, AKO needed to replace its existing business software with an integrated, end-to-end ERP solution.

Following a rigorous evaluation process, which involved several major ERP vendors, AKO decided to implement IFS Applications.

“We chose IFS since they were able to present a comprehensive business platform based on modern architecture and a user-friendly interface as well as several positive customer references,” AKO Information Technologies Coordinator Mehmet Şahin said. “As our central ERP system, IFS Applications will empower our staff with more efficient data capture and processing throughout our subsidiaries, which, in turn, will improve data quality and drive dynamic decision-making.”

IFS Turkey Managing Director Ergin Öztürk added, “It is a great pleasure for us to announce the agreement with AKO, one of Turkey’s automotive giants. Having worked with some of the world’s most successful automotive companies for many years, we are proud to offer a true best-practice industry solution. Drawing on the functional depth of our solution and experience of our consultants, we look forward to supporting AKO’s digital transformation and successful business growth.”

The IFS solution includes support for production and planning management, constraint-based scheduling, finance, human resources, procurement, sales and marketing, quality and document management, maintenance, R&D, engineering, PLM and PDM, supply chain, and electronic invoicing.
