Natural Environmental Research Council (“NERC”) out of United Kingdom selects IOCOM Visimeet video conferencing platform

Chicago, IL April 24, 2013:   IOCOM, a leading provider of universal   video conferencing   solutions, today announced the selection of the Janet-connected Visimeet service by the Natural Environmental Research Council in the UK as a global video collaboration tool for use in its environmental research. The selection of Visimeet came after an exhaustive vetting of many solutions against the needs of the researchers.  Visimeet’s availability on all platforms - Windows, Macintosh, Linux as well as mobile systems, Android and iOS - and global reach allows researchers to use the product wherever they need to, on the system that is most appropriate.

“The ability to share desktops and applications, share documents and the other tools made it a perfect fit for researchers and helps us in reducing our carbon foot print at the same time.” said Jacquie Goodger, Project Manager at Natural Environment Research Council, “It has also been received very well by our researchers with fantastic feedback on our recent survey.”

“Research and education are not isolated efforts: they demand collaboration from many people who are rarely in the same location at the same time” added Gary Refka, IOCOM VP of Operations. “Visimeet was created by researchers for researchers to ensure that multi-party collaboration can occur anytime, anywhere and still be efficient and effective.

IOCOM solutions sit in the middle of the emerging trends for the industry: ubiquitous, software-based, and cloud delivered while embracing the BYOD (bring your own device) model. Operating over any network on Windows, Mac, and Linux systems as well as iOS and Android devices; Visimeet is a one stop solution that meets the wide range of needs at NERC.

Visimeet keeps people connected through video, audio, and data conferencing and gives users the ability to transfer files and share and view data in real time. Its solutions can connect with different endpoints simultaneously, including room systems, desktop PCs, notebooks, and mobile devices as well as telephone, ISDN, SIP, and H.323 connections.
