Television personality Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen has branched out, and is bringing his unique sense of style to a brand new Christmas experience for families - The Magical Journey.

Launching at The Belfry Hotel in Sutton Coldfield on November 22, 2014 and running until December 24th, the interior-design star promises the event will not only be the ultimate “meet Father Christmas experience” but also the best value of its kind – with tickets starting from as little as £10.

Laurence, who has designed every aspect of the experience from the cast costumes to the décor, explained that in creating The Magical Journey he has tried to steer away from the more commercial and less traditional aspects of the yuletide season to create something extra special.

He said: “Since childhood I’ve always felt that Christmas deserves more than the saccharine-sweet, rosy-cheeked styling derived from American advertising.

“For me it was, and is, a time of magic, mystery and timeless wonder. It’s Dickens, CS Lewis, carols, pantomime and, latterly, Harry Potter.”

Hosted seven days a week, guests will take part in a breath-taking journey that will see them explore a beautiful snow-topped forest and ride on the Father Christmas Express to Uncle Holly’s Hut, it will then travel through enchanted woods to the North Pole HQ – where children can meet Father Christmas himself.

Other parts of the attraction near Sutton Coldfield will include a chance to share stories with Mrs Claus,  and to watch elves in training at the Simion Cowelf Academy.

There will be real reindeer in the reindeer tree glade, a Father Christmas museum, and The Big Top where guests can visit the Christmas market and even a Magical Cafe.

Laurence said: “I have designed The Magical Journey to inspire that slightly breathless sense of excited anticipation I think all of us can remember from our childhood experiences.

“It’s a sophisticated yet accessible vision of Christmas storytelling that mingles excitement with enchantment and fairytale with fantasy to ensure a never-forgotten seasonal experience.”

Tickets for The Magical Journey cost between £10-£22.50 and are available through the website: www.magicaljourney.co.uk
