Jet Airways May News Round-Up - New Premium Class on Domestic Routes and Code Share with Gulf Air
JET AIRWAYS LAUNCHES ‘KONNECT SELECT’ PREMIUM CLASS ON DOMESTIC ROUTES
Buoyed by the surge in air travel demand – in particular business travel – Jet Airways Konnect, Jet Airways’ all-economy service, has launched the new ‘Konnect Select’ premium cabin on key domestic routes.
Effective from April 26, 2010, the new premium cabin is aimed at passengers who desire more flexibility and comfort. Konnect Select will offer a superior in-flight product at affordable prices, as well as additional on-ground, in-flight and Jet Privilege frequent flyer benefits. The new service will be ideal for business travellers as well as international travellers looking for a little more luxury on their regional flights.
Key in-flight features will include wider and more comfortable seats with a 40 inch seat pitch (similar to Jet Airways’ Premiere Class seats), in a front cabin separated from the all-economy cabin by a divider offering enhanced privacy on the Boeing 737 flights. The service also includes complimentary reading material, a welcome drink, and hot meals.
Konnect Select will offer guests lounge access, priority check-in at dedicated counters, as well as priority baggage tagging and baggage allowances, all at an attractive price. Konnect Select passengers will also enjoy Jet Privilege benefits, including a mileage accrual structure, excess baggage allowance and upgrade vouchers.
JET AIRWAYS ENTERS INTO CODE SHARE WITH GULF AIR
Jet Airways’ dominance of the Gulf network continues with India’s premier international airline signing a code share agreement with Bahrain’s national carrier, Gulf Air.
Under the agreement, which came into effect on 12 April 2010, Jet Airways’ flight code will appear on all Gulf Air operated flights between Bahrain and Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Kochi and Thiruvananthapuram. Gulf Air will in turn code share on Jet Airways’ daily services between Mumbai and Bahrain.
The code share agreement will enable both carriers to further leverage their respective networks, offering passengers enhanced connectivity, seamless transfers between flights, baggage checked-through to their final destination and a host of other benefits including the fastest and most frequent access to the Middle East region.
Jet Airways flies to eight cities in the Gulf, including Kuwait, Bahrain, Muscat, Doha, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Jeddah and Riyadh.
