Mark Sadler, technical instructor for the Konecranes Training Institute, has won an honorable mention for Crane & Rigging HotLine’s 2013 “Top Trainer” Award, featured in its November issue.

Out of 22 nominees, Sadler was one of only three trainers who were featured as honorable mentions in the magazine. Trainers were judged on their use of innovative instruction, impact on students, evidence that their training was successful, and more. They were nominated by their students, peers,  co-workers. The judges were editors as well as representatives from the Association of Crane & Rigging Professionals (ACRP).

As a technical instructor for the Konecranes Training Institute, Sadler conducts operational, rigging, inspection, and mechanical maintenance training for overhead traveling cranes.

Sadler is known by students from a diverse array of industries for his “innovative rigging demonstrations” and for his ability to infuse a serious subject with humor, says the magazine. Crane & Rigging Hotline wrote about how Sadler “perfected a tool to demonstrate various rigging techniques,” experimented with it and fabricated one for each instructor.

The Konecranes Training Institute provides a wide variety of expert training to world-class industrial customers in the operation and maintenance of crane and hoist equipment. Each year, thousands of material handlers train at their Institute near Milwaukee, at over 40 regional locations, or on-site at customer facilities.
