KA awarded contract for dynamic power steering systems to BRP worth USD 100 million (NOK 768 million)
Kongsberg Automotive's Driver Control Systems business area was selected by BRP, a major powersports OEM, to supply dynamic power steering systems (DPS). The agreement will incorporate the latest technology within Kongsberg’s next generation DPS product launch, providing BRP’s market-leading vehicles with superior performance.
The contract has an estimated total value of more than USD100 million (NOK 768 million). KA's facility in Grand Mère, Canada will produce these systems, beginning in 2015.
“We are proud to be a supplier of BRP and see this as a testimonial of our strategic growth efforts in the segment,” said Håkon Amundsen, Vice President Sales & Marketing, Driver Controls Systems.
"As a leading supplier in dynamic power steering systems, we can provide high performance cost-effective designs for our customers. This nomination by such a prestigious performance-oriented market leader as BRP demonstrates our system capabilities and competitive value," added Rob Cowans, General Manager for Kongsberg Automotive's Grand Mère, facility.
“The agreement between BRP and KA is part of our long-standing partnership and is a win-win as BRP and KA will both benefit from the incorporation of these next-generation dynamic power steering systems into BRP vehicles,” said Christian Lecomte, vice-president of BRP’s Strategic Sourcing department.
