Kongsberg Automotive has secured two contracts worth a total of EUR 12 Million within the Interior product area.

The first contract is for supply of head restraints and arm rests to a popular crossover SUV for the North American market. Start of production will be in Q4 2013 from KA’s facilities in Reynosa, Mexico and Milan, USA. The contract will run for 4 years.

“This is an important nomination that confirms our position as one of the preferred suppliers of these products to the top American car brands”, says Director of Global Sales & Marketing, Hans Jørgen Mørland.

Additionally, KA has been nominated to supply hood release cables to a premium European vehicle manufacturer for a range of passenger cars and SUVs. The cables will be produced in KA’s Siofok plant in Hungary with first deliveries scheduled for the end of 2014.

“This win helps to confirm KA’s capabilities as a key supplier directly to the European OEMs as well as to the Tier 1 and Tier 2”, says Adrian Baker, Business Unit Director for the Light Duty Cable business unit.
