Champaign, IL August 11, 2011-- LetterMpress™, a new app for the Apple iPad that lets anyone create graphic designs with vintage wood type and art cuts on a virtual hand-drive printing press, is offering its first update. The update adds two new wood type fonts, Tuscan and Lydian Bold, with lowercase variants. The LetterMpress update for the iPad also includes user-friendly Undo and Redo features, making it even easier for professionals and beginners alike to create beautiful letterpress graphic designs.

The LetterMpress app delivers an authentic, hands-on letterpress printing experience on the Apple iPad. Users select and assemble vintage wood type and art images, mix colors and ink the type, select paper from an array of colors and textures, and hand-crank the virtual letterpress on their iPad display to output their designs.

LetterMpress is being used to produce graphic designs for prints, posters, books, invitations, greeting cards, scrapbooks, photo albums and more. The new app enables finished letterpress designs to be printed, shared via email, Photo Album, posted to Facebook, Tumblr and other social media, or output to popular graphics applications for incorporating into larger design projects. Users have launched a page on Flickr to showcase their designs and share ideas, and more designs appear on the LetterMpress Facebook page.

LetterMpress is available now on the App Store in the Entertainment category. Additional information and a video demonstration of the app can be found on the app’s Web site, www.lettermpress.com .

Neenah Paper, the world’s leading manufacturer of fine printing papers, is sponsoring the introduction of the LetterMpress app, including the new update. CRANE’S LETTRA® Papers, a 100% cotton fiber paper, is considered by many designers and printers to be the most revered paper for beautiful letterpress work.
