Dr Graeme Close, Sports Nutrition Consultant and Reader and Research Scientist at LJMU was recently interviewed on the subject of ageing athletes on BBC Radio 4.  Using his specialist research in this area, Dr Close looked at why we have seen success for older athletes recently and particularly at the Commonwealth Games.  He reveals the secrets to this through sports science advances and how we can change the ‘athletes peak young’ culture.
