Commercial success is beckoning for Aquatina, the world’s first collapsible pocket bottle, as it arrives on the shelves of 300 Blacks and Milletts stores in the UK. Recognising the appeal of a portable bottle to travellers and the outdoor pursuits market, Blacks are promoting the Aquatina at half price when purchased with any other item in-store. Guy Jeremiah, MD of Aquatina said: “To be retailing with Blacks and Milletts feels like the next chapter in our story following Dragon’s Den. Aquatina is a stylish and eco-friendly product and we look forward to a great reaction from customers who want free water on the go!” Aquatina received an unprecedented vote of confidence from viewers following a verbal roasting by the Dragons in the BBC Den. “The Dragon’s reaction was puzzling, but with 58 positive posts on the BBC website, 300 emails of support, a range of global sales enquiries and a Blacks Leisure order for 10,000 Aquatina – it’s pretty clear the Dragon’s were the only people who didn’t understand the value of our collapsible bottle” said Guy Jeremiah, Managing Director at Aquatina Aquatina faced the public in more tranquil circumstance by providing water on their stand at ‘A Garden Party To Make A Difference’, at Clarence House. The garden party demonstrated the small steps that can, and are, being taken by all of us, interested in building a more sustainable future. Aquatina raised money at the event with the sale of an astonishing 2,500 Aquatina to ultimately establish their Find-a-Fountain campaign as a charity to map drinking water sources and raise money to restore and install fountains. Visitors to the Aquatina stand included the Prince of Wales, Archbishop Setamu, the Duke of Kent and Mel C of the Spice Girls. The creation of the Aquatina was initially dismissed as impossible by design experts, because of the challenges inherent in blow-moulding technology. But following a year-long process, a patent pending design has been created by Wares Design and manufactured by William Becketts Plastics, both in Sheffield.
