Langosta Lounge Commemorates Super-Storm with Event to Honor Shore Residents and Supporters

Asbury Park, NJ – Oct. 24, 2013 - In the days following Hurricane Sandy, Jersey Shore restaurateur Marilyn Schlossbach was left with four out of her five venues closed due to storm damage.    Nearly one year later, with all of her businesses back up and running, she is hosting a “Sandy Release Party” on Tuesday, October 29 at Langosta Lounge in Asbury Park to honor the patrons, friends and family who were instrumental in supporting her businesses’ recovery.

Schlossbach aptly titled the event as a “release” party to invite victims of Hurricane Sandy to come together and bid farewell to a year that for so many was filled with devastation and destruction.  Kicking-off at 6:00 p.m. on the one-year anniversary of Sandy, Schlossbach’s event is free and open to the public and will feature live music, complimentary fare and libations.  The non-profit organization Waves for Water will be honored for their tireless recovery efforts in the days, weeks and months following the storm, as will the contributors to Schlossbach’s Go Fund Me campaign, who were instrumental to her restaurants’ re-building efforts.  A special screening of “A Storm to Remember” in the Asbury Park Yacht Club, adjacent to Langosta Lounge, will round out the evening.

Offering the perspective of both a business owner and resident, Schlossbach is able to comment on the various challenges the Jersey Shore has faced since Sandy made landfall one year ago.  A resident of Asbury Park and Normandy Beach, Schlossbach’s venues include: Labrador Lounge in Normandy Beach; Langosta Lounge, the Asbury Park Yacht Club, Pop’s Garage and Lightly Salted on the Asbury Park Boardwalk; and Dauphin Grille in the Berkeley Oceanfront Hotel.   Her Sandy experience has been documented in the Restore The Shore Video series which can be viewed here - http://vimeo.com/66104019
