Professional Artists from North America, Canada Converge in Asbury Park, NJ

ASBURY PARK, NJ (May 1, 2013) – Professional artists from throughout North America and Canada will converge on Saturday, June 1 for the much-anticipated return of the Day of Demos event to the Third Annual Artist Outreach Program to be held in Asbury Park.  Presented by Winsor & Newton and Liquitex, two industry leaders and innovators in fine art supplies, the Day of Demos will kick off at 9:00 a.m. in front of the Shoppes at the Arcade at 658 Cookman Avenue and welcome artists, community members and enthusiasts to a full day of complimentary product and technique demonstrations.  Eight interactive, educational stations will line the street and be led by the professional artists of the Artist Outreach Program.  Highlighting the day, attendees will be invited to use a variety of new Liquitex products to paint a Toyota Scion car.

“Whether just starting out or an experienced professional, artists of every skill level can benefit from learning more about new products and techniques.  The Day of Demos aims to educate and inspire artists through its varied on-site demonstrations.  From oil paints, to watercolors, acrylics, acrylic-paint markers and spray paints, the Day of Demos will spotlight mediums and how they interact with surfaces and materials,” commented Jimmy Leslie, resident artist at Liquitex and director of The Artist Outreach Program.

Free and open to the public, the Day of Demos will encourage guests to rotate between its eight stations in half-hour intervals.  Topics to be discussed at each station include:  Experimenting with Liquitex Acrylic Mediums; Mixing Winsor & Newton Artists’ Oil Bar and Tube Colors; Varnishing with Liquitex; Plein Air Painting with Winsor & Newton; Funky Color and Make Your Own Paint; Choosing the Right Liquitex Medium for Your Surface; How to Use Liquitex Water-based Professional Spray Paint and the newly released Professional Acrylic Paint Markers; Intermixability: Painting a Toyota Scion with Sprays, Markers and Tube Colors.

Sponsored by Winsor & Newton and Liquitex, the Third Annual Artist Outreach Program in Asbury Park is a two-day event that aims to inspire artists through education.  On Friday, May 31, professional artists will convene at the Collective Art Tank in Asbury Park for Winsor & Newton and Liquitex’s annual Artist Outreach Program conference.  “Connections,” a gallery exhibition that will, for the first time ever, feature the work of the professional artists in the Artist Outreach Program as a group, will celebrate its opening at The Gallery 13 following the Day of Demos.

The Day of Demos will happen from 9:00 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. on Saturday, June 1 on the street in front of the Shoppes at the Arcade on Cookman Avenue in Asbury Park.  Pre-registration for the Day of Demos is encouraged.  Attendees who pre-register will receive complimentary samples of Winsor & Newton and Liquitex art supplies.  To register for the event, or to learn more about the Artist Outreach Program, please visit www.CollectiveArtTank.com.
