Major League Baseball Players Alumni Association and Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation to Host Aspire Gala in Baltimore

Event to feature Andre Dawson, Goose Gossage, Fergie Jenkins, Gaylord Perry, Phil Niekro and Brooks Robinson

Colorado Springs, Colo. – The Major League Baseball Players Alumni Association and Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation will host its 13th annual Aspire Gala featuring Hall of Famers, former MLB All-Stars, World Series champions and other alumni. The event will take place on Friday, February 24th with proceeds benefitting the Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation and MLBPAA.

 

MLBPAA President Brooks Robinson will be honored at the gala for his excellence in baseball, dedication to helping others and being an influential figure in the lives of many both on and off the field.

Alumni players attending* the event include Hall of Famers Andre Dawson, Goose Gossage, Fergie Jenkins, Gaylord Perry, Phil Niekro and Brooks Robinson, as well as Jim Coates, Jack Fisher, Chuck Goggin, Ross Grimsley, Johnny Grubb, Jim Hannan, Ron Hansen, Dave Johnson, Brian Kowitz, Tony Saunders, Don Stanhouse, Bill Swaggerty, Jay Witasick and Fred Valentine. These 20 players combine for 248 seasons, 14,391 games, 1,443 wins and 50 All-Star appearances.

 

The gala will take place at the Baltimore Waterfront Marriott, starting with cocktails and a silent auction at 5:30 p.m. located at 700 Aliceanna St., Baltimore, MD 21202. The event will continue at 7:00 p.m. with a dinner program.
