MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL PLAYERS ALUMNI ASSOCIATION TO HOST LEGENDS FOR YOUTH CLINIC, CELEBRITY BASEBALL GAME, DINNER AND GOLF TOURNAMENT IN EVANSVILLE

Clinic to feature Boots Day and other MLB Alumni; Celebrity game, dinner and golf tournament to feature Darrell Evans, Rollie Fingers, Fergie Jenkins and other MLB Alumni

Colorado Springs, Colo. – The Major League Baseball Players Alumni Association and will be hosting a Legends for Youth Clinic, The Greatest Save celebrity baseball game, dinner, and “Swing with the Legends” golf tournament to benefit Kindervision and the Major League Baseball Players Alumni Association. The event, taking place on September 7th through September 9th, 2013, will feature 16 retired MLB Hall of Famers, All-Stars, former Cardinals, and World Series champions.

Alumni players attending include Darrell Evans, Rollie Fingers, Fergie Jenkins, Boots Day, Leo Foster, Randy Hundley, Andy McGaffigan, Michael Murphy, Ron Nischwitz, Paul Noce, Jeff Parrett, Phil Roof, Gene Walter, Jon Warden, Eric Weaver, and Rick White.

The event will begin on Saturday, September 7th with a Legends for Youth Clinic from 8:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Alumni players will train at stations including pitching, catching, base running, and life skills. Registration will begin at 8:00 a.m. and the morning will conclude with an autograph session for children in attendance. The clinic will then be followed by The Greatest Save celebrity baseball game at 12:00 p.m. Both the clinic and the game will be hosted at Bosse Field, the home of the minor league Evansville Otters. The park is located at 1701 N. Main St., Evansville, IN 47711. There will then be a reception and dinner at The Tropicana on Sunday, September 8th beginning at 6:00 p.m., located at 421 NW Riverside Dr., Evansville, IN 47708. The event will conclude on Monday, September 9th with the “Swing with the Legends” golf classic beginning with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. The golf tournament will be hosted at the Rolling Hills Country Club, located at 1666 Old Plank Road, Newburgh, IN 47630.
