Report this content
The first barge carrying 1,000 tons of pulp arrived yesterday, 15 November, at
Nueva Palmira deep sea harbour. The pulp mill in Fray Bentos only has storing
capacity for approximately one day's production, so the pulp is loaded directly
to barges and transported to Nueva Palmira harbour.

When the mill will be in full production, a barge carrying Botnia's pulp
production will be arriving on a daily basis at the port terminal in Nueva
Palmira. It will take approximately 8 hours for the barge to reach Nueva
Palmira from Fray Bentos. The barges have a loading capacity of 3,500 tons. The
warehouse in Nueva Palmira can store 100,000 tons of pulp.

The start-up of the mill operations has proceeded well and according to plans.
All process areas are in operation and now the mill personnel continues with
the optimization of the process and improvement of pulp quality.
